Pointing Dog Training
Guide approved pointing dogs for the upland hunter.
During the month of August we work alongside Seranoa Kennels at their top-notch training facility and kennel in Roundup, MT.
As we ready our personal guide dogs for the upcoming Montana hunting season, we accept a limited number of guest dogs to join the string. We focus on pattern, handling, recall, and exposure to wild birds. Young dogs are given the opportunity to knock and chase birds; older dogs who are already yard broke are steadied up and taught to back and stand to wing and shot.
Our goal is to craft confident, biddable, and reliable bird dogs who understand how to learn. That process takes time, patience, and consistency. Training techniques, and the pace at which training progresses, must be tailored to fit each individual dog’s needs. We work hard to meet every dog at their stage in development and use our time together efficiently to help them achieve as much as possible.
If you want to learn more about our summer training program or are looking for pointing dog training during other times of the year feel free to reach out to us with any questions.
